CAD Countdown to 2026 Chiang Mai (Lantern Release & Fireworks)
The CAD Countdown Festival to 2026 in Chiang Mai (Lantern Release & Fireworks) seamlessly blends the rich Lanna cultural heritage with an international year-end celebration. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a traditional Lanna market (“Kad Mua”), a festive temple fair zone featuring local folk games, exquisite local cuisine, and a variety of cultural activities. The event also includes traditional cultural performances, Lanna dance, and culminates in an enchanting lantern release at night and the most spectacular fireworks display in Northern Thailand. Welcome the New Year with hope, love, and faith.
Objectives and Significance
- To preserve, maintain, and promote Lanna cultural traditions for future generations
- To support cultural tourism in Chiang Mai, enhancing its beauty and international recognition
- A portion of the proceeds will be donated to charities and foundations dedicated to preserving art, culture, and supporting the community

As midnight approaches, dazzling fireworks themed “The Glory of Lanna,” “Light of Love,” “Light of Faith,” “Light of Hope,” “Light up my Life,” and “Light Over the Horizon” will illuminate the Chiang Mai sky, creating unforgettable memories to welcome the New Year.
